Many of the documents you find on the web will be in the Portable Document Format (PDF). However, at times when you attempt to save the document (file) to your hard drive the file name will have the extension of CGI not PDF.
All you need to do is change the extension to pdf, either before or after you save the file. Then you will be able to view and print the file with Adobe's Acrobat Reader Software. If you need the Free Acrobat Reader Software select this link.
Look at the "Quick Tip: Saving PDF Files" at http://www.access.gpo.gov/su_docs/help/tips/pdf.html for a very clear explanation of this procedure. Take the time to read the one page of help instructions. It will save you a great deal of time in the future. You may want to bookmark the page to use in the future.
Tips:
(1) Name the file something that has meaning to you. Example: If you save the regulation
on business expenses change the file name to regbusexp.pdf
(2) Remember where, in which folder, you save the file.
(3) Remember the name of the file you save.
(4) If Acrobat Reader does not automatically open the file. Find the file with windows
explorer, double click the left mouse button on file name to open it with Acrobat Reader.
